We believe in the great importance of seeds as shoots of life,
Thus we founded in our farm the “first Organic Seed Company”
responsible for the conservation and production of traditional and
historical rice varieties.
Our Organic Seed Company allows us to preserve and to spread
agro-biodiversity, sharing it with other farmers, but also,
to use and to spread exclusively certified Organic rice seed.
We avoid the exemptions that the Organic agriculture Europeans
regulations provides to farmers when certified seeds are not available.
Actually the vast majority of organic rice producer are using these
exemption and they don’t use organic seeds.

Our farm “Una Garlanda” is Custodian and "responsible for the conservation
and preservation" of 8 Traditional Conservation Rice Varieties:
Bertone and Originario Chinese, Lencino, Chinese Ostiglia, Nano,
Dellarole, Precoce Gallina, Precoce 6

Every year we keep alive these and many other historical rice
varieties through careful in-situ conservation (multiplication, intercropping, selection in small experimental plots/rice fields) where the seeds adapt year after year to the soil, the climate and to
an agriculture without "artificial supports".
This natural breeding evolution generates several landraces and local tenacious and strong ecotypes; those landraces have characteristics that are more suitable and adapted to the natural
environment that hosts and nourishes them.
This is why our organic certified natural rice seeds give their best,
combined with an Organic, Biodynamic, Polycultural agriculture
model.
