Il  METODO STOCCHI,
The STOCCHI METHOD is the agronomic technique that we
“discovered” after fruitful exercises of patient observation of nature.
This method allows us to grow rice without any chemical product
and no fertilization, not even those permitted by Organic regulations.
.
At the beginning Fulvio Stocchi started with a first observation in 2003;
he made it on a portion of land where the plow had not turned the clods:
in that particular conditions the competition with other plants,
terrestrial, amphibian and aquatic allowed the rice to grow healthy and luxuriant.

Only after serveral years of attempts, dozens of tests with different
grass mixtures and with various flooding and dry periods and
reductions in processing soil, we became able to define a
replicable and extremely valid-effective methodology (Riso Bio-System)
Several studies and scientific publications recently validated and
confirmed this methods and they call it:
“ Green Mulching”

.
We can summarize the cultivation methods steps as follows the
• The autumn sowing of “Polyphyte grasses” on minimum tilled soils.

• The springtime sowing of rice, we broadcast directly rice seeds on the
lawn that in the meantime has grown forming a big vegetative mass.

• The lawn shredding or lawn "lodging" and subsequent rice fields flooding.

• The organic biomass fermentation monitoring; once the water is
removed by the rice fields (after some days) this organic biomass
forms a layer similar to a natural "mulch" that is protective and nutritious for the rice grains.

• The second rice fields flooding; the water should be left now on the
fields for the entire rice vegetative period.

• The humid environment creates optimal conditions for rice germination and growth.

• Possible mechanical intervention could be done in order to inhibit
certain commensal herbs that grow together with rice.

• Harvest
.
We have then eliminated many source of pollution such as pesticides,
fungicides and artificial fertilizers or those derived from animal waste;
we also drastically reduced the agricultural vehicles wear and tear
with a consequent 75% reduction in fossil fuels use.

We add to this method an important and concrete investment in
natural environment by planting more than 15,000 trees and bushes
and facilitating all aquatic and terrestrial life forms that create a
special food... "biodiverse food"!

We make available this simple and effective agronomic
